These images of Black Bear were captured in the Smoky Mountains. What an experience. Being within 20 feet of these animals was both scary and exhilarating. While mostly paying attention to themselves, once in a while you would have a bear sit up and take notice of my proximity. I'm glad to say I escaped with memorable photos and my health.
Ever sit and watch a small bird, paying attention to their behavior? While mostly focused on food, a keen awareness of our proximity to them keeps the great picture an elusive challenge. While these birds may not demand the attention some larger birds do, their higher activity level and contrasting colors make them a joy to watch.
Typically, I look at a picture of the sun on the horizon and instantly think it's a sunrise. Why? I think every day is an opportunity to start anew. That is why I generally prefer images of sunrises. If you think one of these images are nice, I encourage you to make it a point to catch the next sunrise in person.
